Police want to question a 31-year-old Puna man in connection with a Halloween night assault that critically injured another man.

Kallen Imade, whose last known address was in Mountain View, is described as 5-foot-6, 155 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

At 11:30 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to a report of an unconscious man in a parking lot on the 100 block of Hema Street. Witnesses reported that the victim had been involved in an affray with another man and that the other man had left the area.

The victim, a 49-year-old Hilo man, was taken to Hilo Medical Center with a head injury and later transferred to The Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu, where he remains in critical condition.

Anyone with information on Imade’s whereabouts is asked to call the police non-emergency line at 935-3311 or contact Detective Grant Todd at 961-2385 or grant.todd@hawaiicounty.gov. Those who prefer anonymity may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
